Phoenix, AZ. – March 29, 2018 – Liberty Iron & Metal Inc. (Liberty) announces today that it has completed the acquisition of substantially all assets of BNC Recycling Inc. (BNC). The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
BNC has grown into a Northeast area leader in the recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals under the supervision of Bradley Cook, owner and founder. In addition to his industry knowledge, Mr. Cook has developed and grown businesses with resilient operational efficiencies and strong leadership. Mr. Cook has agreed to continue with Liberty as Commercial Manager. His addition to the team will help to free up the existing management of Liberty’s Rochester facility, enabling its general manager Harold Bobry to take a more active role in managing Liberty’s companywide non-ferrous activities.
The location will remain operational and will be rebranded under the Liberty banner.
“We are thrilled that Brad is joining the Liberty Iron family and that BNC’s customers will now be have access to the full offerings available with Liberty ,” said Mike Diamond, Chief Executive Officer.
“BNC had a strong reputation throughout the Northeast and specifically in Rochester and Syracuse, and Bradley is recognized as an experienced operator, and buyer and seller of metals. He and his team are an outstanding addition to our team and he will continue to provide excellent services to BNC’s valued customers and ours in Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse. Furthermore, Liberty can now provide more comprehensive capabilities and higher levels of service than ever before to BNC’s customers through the extensive network of Liberty yards throughout the US.”
Liberty remains committed to furthering its strategic plans for growth, both organically and through add-on acquisitions.
“Joining Liberty is a natural fit for BNC and me,” said Cook. “We successfully partnered together on several occasions in the past and when the opportunity presented itself to become part of the Liberty family, I knew it was the right choice for the yard, me, and our customers. With greater access to resources – financial and technological – we can provide a more robust offer to our customers. It is a win-win for everyone involved.”
Liberty prides itself on investing in its people and its yards to offer its customers the best in class service, offerings and solutions for its metal recycling needs.
